Release from to hold documents on the go, DigiLocker can show support-license
Passengers no longer have to keep hard copies of ID proofs while traveling on trains. Indian Railways has launched a special facility for travelers. Now passengers can show support and driver's license from DigiLocker.
DigiLocker is a key initiative under Digital India, the Government of India's flagship program aimed at transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Targeted at the idea of paperless governance, DigiLocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way, thus eliminating the use of physical documents. The DigiLocker website can be accessed at https://digitallocker.gov.in/.
If stopped by a traffic cop for valid papers, then you may show documents stored in DigiLocker to avoid hefty penalties under the amended motor vehicles law. A senior Road Transport Ministry official said that motorists can produce documents using DigiLocker or mParivahan mobile app. The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019, which aims to enforce stricter penalties for road traffic violations, went into effect at the start of this month.
"Motorists can produce digital documents. Digital documents do not mean scanned copy or a photo of driving license, RC (registration certificate) or insurance. They have to be stored on DigiLocker or mParivahan app," the official said.
An amended provision in the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 allows citizens to produce transport-related documents such as registration, insurance, fitness and permit, the driving licence, pollution check certificate and any other relevant documents in electronic form.

The Indian Railways has taken this step to facilitate the passengers. From now on, if you are traveling in a train, you can show the ticket proof staff the ID proof related document contained in the DigiLocker app. The Government of India has started the facility of this DigitalLocker account under Digital India.

Passengers can now use M-Aaadhaar as an ID proof. According to a tweet by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), M-Aaadhaar, e-Aadhaar, will be valid during the travel license.
- Travelers can perform their variations with the help of mobile. You can get up to 1GB of cloud space free in it. In this app you can scan the document and keep it. You can use this digiloker if needed.
