Gujarat Corona update date 26-4-2020 Evening
- 178 cases in Ahmedabad, 30 in Surat, 8 in Anand, 1 in Banaskantha, 2 in Gandhinagar, 4 in Rajkot, 4 in Vadodara, 1-1 in Navsari, Patan and Kheda.
- 8 out of 18 deaths are primarily due to corona while 10 deaths are due to other diseases, high risk and corona.
- The state has so far conducted 51091 tests, 3301 positive and 47790 negative cases.
- Small and big businesses started in the state in the morning and the decision to close shops in four metros in the afternoon

Ahmedabad. Corona has become very serious in the state and the number of deaths and patients is increasing day by day. In the last 24 hours, 230 new cases have been reported in the state and 18 patients have died as well as 31 patients have recovered. All these deaths have taken place in Ahmedabad itself. With this the death toll of the state has reached 151 and the total number of patients has increased to 3301 and a total of 313 patients have recovered. Of the 18 deaths, 8 were primarily due to corona while 10 were due to other diseases, high risk and corona.
In this regard, the front secretary of health Jayanti Ravi said that 230 positive cases have been registered in the state in 24 hours. These include 178 cases in Ahmedabad, 30 in Surat, 8 in Anand, 1 in Banaskantha, 2 in Gandhinagar, 4 in Rajkot, 4 in Vadodara, 1-1 in Navsari, Patan and Kheda. While 18 have died. So far 51091 tests have been done in the state, 3301 have come positive and 47790 cases have come negative.
Chief Minister's Secretary Ashwini Kumar said shops are not allowed to open in metros till May 3. The decision has been taken after discussions with local traders. Shops will be closed in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. However essential goods shops can be opened. Public transport, beauty parlors and spice shops are also not allowed.
Ashwini Kumar further said that the Municipal Commissioners and Collectors of the four metros have jointly decided that shops and businesses in the four metros will not be allowed to operate till May 3 and will be kept closed. Only shops of essentials and necessities that were earlier open during the lockdown will be allowed to continue in these metros.
Drone footage records 810 crimes, arrests more than 700: DGP
Regarding the state of lockdown in the state, state police chief Shivanand Jai said that persons involved in liquor smuggling have been nabbed in Botad. Our rush of people will not be carried out. 45 offenses of lockdown breach have been reported. As well as 58 social media accounts have been deleted. While 810 crimes have been registered from the drone footage and more than 700 arrests have been made. The lockdown is currently being strictly enforced.

As per the government's instructions, 90 per cent of the state's Gujarat, including Korona hotspots like Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara, started work early in the morning. Crowds of people, especially at petrol pumps, air proof, spectacle shops and hardware shops were jammed. People also flocked to the electric shops. The shopkeepers had started their business early in the morning after the government gave permission to open certain shops on the occasion of Akhatrij today. At the same time, all the shopkeepers were found to be strictly following the rules of the government.

State Health Secretary Jayanti Ravi, while giving an update on corona, said that there are 3,071 positive corona cases in Gujarat, out of which 2656 are active cases. There were many benefits to having a timely lockdown. Adequate quantity of medicines is available in Gujarat. A quantity of PPE kit is also available. In Ahmedabad, traders sell items to customers outside
Merchants in Corona's hotspot Ahmedabad opened shops with preparations to maintain social distance. Shops including garage, puncher, utensil, stationery, mobile cell and repairing, recharge, AC, electronics, clothing show room, tailor, stores were open since morning. The shopkeepers placed a table in front of the shop and tied the rope so that the customers would not crowd the shop. The item was delivered to customers from outside. People were also seen adhering to social distance.
In Vadodara, traders closed their shops after cleaning
Shops including electric, garage, sheets, spectacles, hardware, autoparts, worship goods, bakery, etc. were open in the areas designated by the government, excluding Nagarwada, the red zone of Vadodara city. However, most of the traders closed their shops after a month of cleaning operations. City Vaghodia Road, New VIP Road, Karelibagh, Gotri, Gorwa, Tarsali, Makarpura, Manjalpur, Alkapuri. The traders said that the shops have been allowed to open. No sense in telling you now - I don't wanna ruin the suprise. People who go out for shopping are being questioned by the police.
In Rangeela Rajkot, shops remained open on Sundays, with customers shopping from social distances
