The corona virus crisis in the country is constantly increasing. Meanwhile, the lockdown in the country has been extended for two weeks to deal with the Corona crisis. The lockdown will now continue in the country till May 17. This was informed through the Ministry of Home Affairs.



The ongoing lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus has been extended by two more weeks, and will now go on till May 17. The decision was announced through a government order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. "After a comprehensive review, and in view of the Lockdown measures having led to significant gains in the COVID-19 situation in the country, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India (GoI) issued an Order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, today, to further extend the Lockdown for a further period of two weeks beyond May 4, 2020," the government order stated.

The first lockdown was announced by the Prime Minister on March 24, which went on till April 15. The second round of lockdown, slated to end on May 3, began on April 15.

The latest Home Ministry order stated that schools, colleges, public transport, including trains, flights and metro services, will remain suspended for the next two weeks across the country. Hotels, restaurants, gyms, cinema halls and shopping malls among others will stay closed for the next two weeks, as will all places of worship.


In fact, Lockdown 2.0 was due to expire on May 3. However, it has already been decided to extend the countrywide lockdown for two weeks through the Modi government. Now this lockdown 3.0 will continue from May 4 to May 17. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued advisory for the ongoing activities during this time.

The country has once again stepped up lockdowns to fight the Corona virus epidemic. The lockdown has been extended to two weeks in the country. The country will now have a lockdown until May 17. The government has decided that. The government said the decision was made because ending the current lockdown could lead to losses.



The lockdown has been going on for the last 38 days across the country due to the Corona virus epidemic. The first lockdown of 21 days was announced by Prime Minister Modi on March 24. The latter announced a lockdown on April 14 for another 19 days i.e. till May 3.

Explain that the first 21-day nationwide lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first lockdown lasted from March 25 to April 14. After this, a 19-day lockdown from April 15 to May 3 was also announced on behalf of PM Modi. However, this time the lockdown has been announced through the Home Ministry.
