Online Education For ITI Students in Gujarat
Educational work is closed due to the prevalent corona virus infection. Following this, Chief Minister Rupani has e-launched a training program for online education at home for more than 1 lakh students pursuing vocational education at the state's industrial training institute ITI. The pre-lockdown curriculum and training program has been prepared by more than 700 ITI supervisors-instructors during the lockdown due to the transition of cores in 12 different trades run in ITI across the state.
Also this e-learning material of more than two thousand hours has been made available in Gujarati language on www.talimrojgar.gujarat.gov.in. Not only this, for the purpose that the trainees can fully prepare for the exam at home, a question bank with answers of more than 10 thousand MCQs of 12 trades has also been made online.

The 12 trades for which the Chief Minister has inspired the Employment-Training Regulatory Authority to innovate this e-learning online material are mainly fitters, wiremen, welders, basic cosmetologists, computer operators cum programming assistants, sewing technology, electricians, mechanics, electronics, electronics. Diesel, Attendant Operator cum Programming Assistant, Mechanic Refrigeration & Air Conditioner.Three books of Fitter and Turner Trade translated into Gujarati are available online
Apart from this, NIMI (National Instructional Media Institute), a Chennai based institute of the Central Government which publishes books in English and Hindi as per the syllabus of various courses of NCVT pattern. Was released at the hands of the Chief Minister. More than 30,000 trainees will benefit from the three books of this Fitter and Turner trade of ITI translated into Gujarati. Supervisor instructors of ITI also provide training to the trainees to prepare records like lesson plan, demonstration plan, graded exercises, information sheet.

The Directorate of Employment and Training, DET is working under the Department of Labour and Employment, Government of Gujarat. It was formed in Gujarat State in 1971 by amalgamation of the Employment Wing, functioning under the Labour Commissionerate, and the Vocational Training Scheme under the Directorate of Technical Education.

ITI TEXT BOOK PDFE- learning refers to learning enhanced through electronic means. DET, Gujarat leverages the ubiquitous spread of the internet technology and it's accessibility, to provide on demand Vocational training lessons from expert instructors all across Gujarat.
Video lectures from expert faculty, question banks, e-text books, etc will help students learn online, thus improving their skills and employability.
At present 287 Govt.ITIs, 497 Grant-in-aid and Self-Financed ITCs, 500 KVKs(Kaushalya Vardhan Kendra).and 48 Employment Exchanges are functioning under this Directorate. Two statutes have been enacted by the Govt. of India to help in achieving the objectives of higher employment in organised sector through training. DET functions with the major objectives of providing Vocational Training and Employment Services to the youths in Gujarat State. To achieve these objectives the DET runs a variety of long-term and short-term training programmes in Industrial Training Institutes/ Centers in the State. It also registers the youths looking for employment and provides placement services to them through Employment Exchanges that also maintain the list of prospective Employers.
