The Jharkhand e-District is a comprehensive and web enabled service portal that acts as an electronic gateway to the government portfolio of services. It is an end-to-end integrated solution that caters to the needs of various departments of the state of Jharkhand and provides various e-governance services to its citizens. It provides an interface for citizens to handle the processing of all these Jharkhand e-district applications such as various citizen centric services such as applying for certificates, land records, pension etc. through this portal.

Land records in India have evolved over the centuries. Land revenue was the main source of revenue for the Indian rulers and then the British. The present form of preparation and maintenance of land records originated during the Mughal period. It is very difficult for a common man to understand his own record of rights. Corruption and lack of transparency are other issues associated with land records in India. The Government of India realized these problems and started the National Land Records Modernization Program (NLRMP) with the objective of standardizing and computerizing all land records in India in a phased manner. All land records and related services are being made online under NLRMP. Some states have already computerized their land records while some are in process.

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMGAY)::

formerly the Indira Awaas Yojana (IAEY), is a major social welfare program created by the Government of India to provide housing for the rural poor in India. A similar scheme for the urban poor was launched in 2015 as housing for all by 2022. The Indira Awaas Yojana was launched in 1985 by Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, as one of the flagship programs of the Minister of Rural Development, to build homes for the BPL population in villages.
